This Fall, we were presented with the unique opportunity to peruse the Liberty textile archives and their entire history of fabrication, in order to choose a fabric to work into a collaboration for a Fall 2014 release. For those unfamiliar, Liberty is a London based department store that dates back to 1875. Liberty of London has an incredible history in the fashion industry, not only through their retail store, but also by way of textile and fabric design and production. The result of the Liberty collaboration was the discovery of the "Ptolemy" fabric, a vibrant floral camouflage fabric to be featured on a signature Staple Pigeon tee, a short sleeve woven shirt, and a five-panel cap. The Staple x Liberty capsule collection also brings in an additional creative collaboration with the fashion accessory heavyweight, Oakley. Oakley and Staple have designed yet another pair of Frogskin sunglasses to be released in the near future, this time featuring the Liberty “Ptolemy” all-over print. The Staple x Liberty short sleeve woven was designed with the Oakley collaboration in mind, in that it features a hidden sunglass sleeve perfect for holding your shades. This will mark Staple's first collaboration with Liberty and the 3-piece set is now available at select retailers, Reed Space, and
