15 Min w/ Bizzy Crook

Who are you?

Who Am I? I am aspiring to be the greatest. I’m Bizzy Crook.

Where are you from and what do you do?

I’m from Florida originally. I’ve moved around in the Miami Area. I express myself through music.

Are there people in your field you look up to? Why?

I look up to Jay-Z, Kanye, Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, Drake, and Michael Jackson. I just remember going through certain things and their music helped me get through it. That’s what I want to do. I want to create music that can help other people even when I’m no longer alive.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is, sadly, go through my phone. I first check for a 100 missed calls from this guy ( points to his manager) and check my email and texts. Then I do 100 affirmations. I’m speaking things into my life. Things like “everything around me is happening for my good.”

What’s the one thing you carry daily? Why is this item essential?

I wear my Good Luck chains. They’re essential because it motivates me to keep going. One day this started as a dream and now it’s physically here on my chain.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

It’s the most simple advice ever, “go with your gut.” So many times we are stuck between two things, but we already know what the correct answer is. Either you do the right thing and pat your self on the back or you do the wrong thing and wish you would’ve went with what you were originally thinking which is your gut.

What’s the worst advice you’ve ever gotten?

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten is “to be realistic.” People’s definition of being realistic is limiting. It’s like acting out of fear, as opposed to acting like the sky is the limit.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

Stubborn.

What inspires you to keep going everyday?

My mom. Wanting to give my mom a better life.

#Goals

I want to look back at my life when I’m 60 years old and have no regrets. I want to see the world, I want to travel, I want to live in bliss. . . doing what I love for as long as I can live.

Tell us about your new project.

Part of everything comes out Sept 28th on Tidal. I have a dope record with Lloyd coming out. The project is inspired by the book The Alchemist, and Santiago going on a journey to the pyramids. The cover is based from the cover of the book and from my life living in Egypt for two years.
